Pooping in public!

Max and I are starting to go out on our own. I finally got tired of sticking around the apartment. While it may sound like it's no big deal to other mom's who either have forgotten how hard it was those first few weeks, or took to mothering better than I did, it has been a big step for me. It means I am feeling better physically, but most importantly emotionally. Being a new mom has been the most humbling experience in my life. I am truly blessed with wonderful family and friends who have supported us the first month. Please continue to remember our little family in your prayers.
So one of my fears I had to conquer was how to change Max while out and about without his dad. Who does much better at diapering than I do. I just kept wishing and hoping that he wouldn't have a poopy diaper that I would need to change and he would just keep it all in until we got home. Yeah, right! He helped me get over that fear real quick. At our first baby shower, he pooped, then right after I got him changed and dressed again...he filled up the second diaper! Now I see why my diaper bag came with a changing pad. And all this time I just thought it was a cute accessory.
Now that we have conquered our (my) fear of pooping in public...Max and I are ready to take over Portland! Watch out world!
