Pregnancy!

This posting is mostly about me. I think it is going to be cheaper to post this than to seek professional help.

Now don't get me wrong, I am so very thankful and feel infinitely blessed that I have the children that I have been given. But I would just like to take a moment to say, I hate stretch marks. And it's really not fair to have stretch marks on top of stretch marks. Pregnancy can be such a precarious time for women. It is emotionally challenging and physically taxing and yet, once you lay eyes your little baby for the first time, you forget all of that. But since it's at the very least 8 more weeks until I meet my little Lucas, I can vent about my least favorite part of pregnancy...GLUCOSE TESTING. Which I have to mention, when they made me drink that orange soda, the nurse looked appalled when I told her I hated this test, she was like, "oh, most people like the soda". I told her I wasn't that hard up for soda that I would be looking forward to the glucola drink.

So with Max, I did not pass my glucose screening for gestational diabetes by three points, because of that I had to take the 3 hour test (which is very deceiving, because it's not really 3 hours it's more like 5). And guess what? I didn't have gestational diabetes. Now with Lucas, I again failed the test by three points! BUT I would have passed it last year, WHY YOU ASK? Because within the year that I took the test for Max...they changed to value of the test. And the nurse was happy to report to me that because they did that they are now catching a lot more of the really big babies, I assured her that I would NOT be one of those women. A big baby is 9lbs 4oz and above. My first child weighed 3lbs 2 oz LESS than that. I asked her if I could bypass the test and just follow the diet that is outlined for women with gestational diabetes...She's going to talk to the doctor and get back to me. Please pray that the doctor won't make me take the 5 hour test, and if she does....Anyone want dibs on Max for a full 5-6 hours?

Okay that is all I wanted to get off my chest. I feel much better. I love blogging...so much cheaper than therapy.

You are allowed to vent once in awhile. How was the massage by the way? Hope it helped!!
