I am not much of a "graduation" person for little kids. It probably started out when they got rid of promotion from junior high to high school at my school the year I was suppose to be a part of it. I felt kinda deflated. I also got the message from a very early age that come hell or high water my high school graduation was not going to be the pinnacle of my scholastic achievement as far as my folks were concerned.
So if your kid under the age of 18 ever donned a graduation hat before last week and you shared with me. I rolled my eyes behind your back or I may have even done it in front of you depending on who you are. This judgmental Mom touted very loudly how all the pomp and circumstance was just so silly for little kids. That is of course, right until she saw her own little one marching in a line of preschoolers...and then it all seemed to make sense. No matter how small the accomplishment. No matter how little the feat was. Or how inconsequential it may seem, there is just a swell of pride in ceremony of the amazing kid you are lucky to call your own moving on to something bigger. No need to point, I know exactly where to insert my foot...
Max has blossomed in preschool. He is bright, kind, and eager to learn. He is so passionate about his interests that it's contagious to his classmates and teachers! He has enjoyed being a big brother and showing Lucas the ropes. One of my favorite moments of the year was on Lucas' first day. Max excitedly introduced anyone he came across to his little brother Lucas. His emerging relationship with Jesus has been wonderful to witness. Max reported in the graduation program that he wants to be "Mario" when he grows up. I think becoming an Italian plumber is a great goal. One I will undoubtedly delight in when he achieves it. If this blog is still around you'll probably end up hearing all about my son; the Italian plumber!

Congratulations Took you have made it to the dark side...LOL! I too thought it was very strange until my oldest had her Kindergarten graduation. I cried! I was so happy for her and it was one of my greatest accomplishments, as well as hers:) Your son looks so cute in his hat. I am sure you were beaming with pride!
