What line?

I have always been a big fan of themed sweaters. Growing up I thought they were the best thing to happen to wardrobes since fur coats. I imagined one day that I would own a whole closet full of sweaters for every occasion and holiday to be celebrated. Little did I know that the only people on Earth that shared my enthusiasm for themed sweaters were elementary school teachers. I even secretly day dreamed that one day I could wear matching ones with my daughter. There is still a small part of me wanting to do so but my fear of public humiliation of being showcased on awkwardfamilyphoto's blog squelches any burning desire to do so, for now anyways. My kids have plenty to talk to their future therapist's about why add to the already growing list?

So in order to save some money and not buy things that are a bit overpriced for what they are on etsy.com I tried my hand in barrette making. I refuse to cut my daughter's hair, like not even a trim refusal. I know, I know I am going to offend all the "the bob is so cute on a little girl moms" out there but oh, well. I know ONE little girl who pulls off a bob, and she has thick mounds of beautiful pretty naturally perfectly you couldn't do it with a curling iron curls. Her mom has clearly passed down the perfectly coiffed hair down to her.The rest of us need a little more length to frame those faces of ours. Moving on...

Being 21 months old means we lose barette's all the time. So I decide with a 25% off coupon at Michael's and a hot glue gun I could be a force to be reckon with in the barrette making industry. I think for what it cost me and what these barrette's will have to go through in their very short life, they turned out just fine. Jeff thinks I crossed the line with the holiday themed ones. Me? I see no line that was crossed with the turkey dinner barrette, but then again...

I also begged my mother to buy a Christmas themed sweater with a hanging doll on it which was also about 2 sizes too big so I used a turtleneck to bulk me up and I wore it in the only professional family pictures we ever took. Check out the lady next to me. She's been looking forward to the day we can shop at Christopher Banks together for decades! She swears she was never into themed sweaters. I beg to differ.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
