Pronouns. That is the problem with not knowing if you have a he or a she in your uterus. We had our 20 week ultrasound this week. As far as we know everything seems to be going well with the baby. We decided to stick to our guns and not find out the sex of the baby. I will have to admit there were many times in the appointment I wanted to change my mind. And I still have another chance during the 4-D appointment in 8 weeks so that is how I live with my decision. By nature, I do not like surprises, I do not take delight in the unimagined or undetermined, and I like to be informed at all points of the journey. So I really have no idea why I am so about not finding out. Besides that it started mattering me to me too much if it was a boy or girl.
I will admit that I do get consumed with silly old wives tales that claim to predict gender. However, the results have been mixed. According to an online quiz I have a 50/50 chance of either sex. DUH! According to the Chinese, it's a girl. But there was an anecdotal piece of information that stated that 71% of women who were asked to guess the sex of their baby were correct. I have only had a dream about a little boy named Logan playing on the floor with me. I'm 90% sure it is a boy. The ring test sways towards pink. I am carrying like I carried the boys but I am as sick as I was with Violet. And when I ask my kids, they think I am either carrying a dinosaur, a Super Mario brother, or Princess Peach.
I have decided instead of just being "the baby". I will use both pronouns. I will sometimes use "he" and other times I'm going to use "she". Honestly though, I think I am just going to use "he" more often. Because I like being right. BUT that's not to say I wouldn't love to be proved wrong either. And, in the end all I am really hoping for is a healthy child to welcome into our family.
